Economic Trend: Climate change is causing more Natural Disasters
· There have been factual evidence to prove that the climate has been changing, and there is evidence to prove there have been more extreme weather since the climate has changed
· The most likely customer would be any consumer in the US
· The opportunity will be relatively difficult to exploit because it takes more than just a handful of people to reduce global warming and we’ve already had such a bad influence on it, to begin with.
Economic Trend: Interest Rate Increase
· People are starting to rely on credit more, so it's likely the interest rate increased to counter the increased use of credit
· Everyone who has some sort of credit would be impacted
· I didn’t see this opportunity coming, partly because I don’t have debt or any form of credit from a bank. But with the increase in the interest rate, it will increase the interest on savings account also.
Regulatory Trend: Increase in Cyber Security
· There have been major breaches in cybersecurity this past year, especially with Facebook so it would be wise for companies to increase their own security to protect their clients
· All internet users
· I saw this opportunity because I have had my personal information breached through Facebook so I would hope they increase security for their other users as well as me
Regulatory Trend: Reduction of Plastic Bags in Gainesville
· There have been obvious signs of global warming in recent years and the oceans are becoming more and more polluted so with the reduction in the use of plastic bags it will increase the wildlife and the world itself
· All consumers in Gainesville
· Other cities, such as Coral Gables, have already enforced laws similar to this so it was easy to see the opportunity
Cyber security is an interesting topic especially in the context of entrepreneurship. Obviously these measures make actions such as black market online transactions harder for innocent businessmen such as myself or Jeff Bezos, but at the same time the more regulated something becomes the more holes there will be to poke in it with legislation and bureacracy. Very cool find!
ReplyDeleteI definitely think there is an uprise in banning plastic bags in stores and other places. I recently had to write an article on banning plastic bags and how the U.S. has a major issue with the overproduction of plastic. After China banned us from importing our plastic waste to them because they simply had no place to put it and it was a health concern for them, we had to start finding places in our country and third world countries to dump it. That of course leads to global warming and the issue with plastic obstructing our wild life. The production of plastic should be reduced and recycled!
