My opportunity was the increase in Sexually Transmitted Diseases on college campuses. In the past two years, there has been an increase in STD's on college campuses and the number are reportedly still rising
The solution to the problem that I am proposing is one that has been implemented in the past. I want to put condom vending machines in common college party scenes, such as bars, fraternity houses, clubs, and campus housing. These machines will either charge a small fee for a condom, like a quarter or they can even swipe their student ID and have it charged to their student accounts. So lack of change won't prevent them from being safe. If the machines are put somewhere not out in the public like a bathroom or a back hallway then more students would be willings to take them. Many reasons why people don't buy or ask for a condom is because they don't want to be embarrassed or they don't want others to know what they're doing. So keeping the machines private will hopefully increase the amount of safe sex happening on campus.

6A Identifying opportunities in economic and regulatory trends
Economic Trend: Climate change is causing more Natural Disasters
· There have been factual evidence to prove that the climate has been changing, and there is evidence to prove there have been more extreme weather since the climate has changed
· The most likely customer would be any consumer in the US
· The opportunity will be relatively difficult to exploit because it takes more than just a handful of people to reduce global warming and we’ve already had such a bad influence on it, to begin with.
Economic Trend: Interest Rate Increase
· People are starting to rely on credit more, so it's likely the interest rate increased to counter the increased use of credit
· Everyone who has some sort of credit would be impacted
· I didn’t see this opportunity coming, partly because I don’t have debt or any form of credit from a bank. But with the increase in the interest rate, it will increase the interest on savings account also.
Regulatory Trend: Increase in Cyber Security
· There have been major breaches in cybersecurity this past year, especially with Facebook so it would be wise for companies to increase their own security to protect their clients
· All internet users
· I saw this opportunity because I have had my personal information breached through Facebook so I would hope they increase security for their other users as well as me
Regulatory Trend: Reduction of Plastic Bags in Gainesville
· There have been obvious signs of global warming in recent years and the oceans are becoming more and more polluted so with the reduction in the use of plastic bags it will increase the wildlife and the world itself
· All consumers in Gainesville
· Other cities, such as Coral Gables, have already enforced laws similar to this so it was easy to see the opportunity

5A-Identifying Local Opportunities
1. Build a wall? McDonald’s riles franchisees with remodeling plan
-McDonalds Comp. and the owners of the restaurants are at odds about building a wall between the kitchen and the equipment and the cashiers. The owners of the restaurants believe that building a wall will be too expensive while corporate is trying to push for a classier more sit down feel, and the sight of the kitchen and all its machines lessening that feeling of a sit-down restaurant.
-The owners and the corporation had different views on whether or not a wall to hide the kitchen was a worthwhile use of money.
-McDonalds and the restaurant owners are the one with the problem
2. Adoptee Adam Crapser sues South Korea, private adoption agency after being deported by US immigration officials
-Adam Crapser is suing a South Korean Private adoption agency after he was deported due to a run-in with the law and the fact that his adoptive parents never filed for his citizenship after his adoption.
-In the article goes into more detail about how the adoption agencies neglect the children after they have been adopted and that Adam was not the only person to have been deported.
- Both Adam and the agency he is suing have problems. But Adams problem is about the deportation, and the agencies problem is the lawsuit they are now facing.
3. Staying inbounds: The risk of innuendo in Super Bowl ads
- There is a growing concern that Super Bowl ads are getting more risqué every year. The company, Devour that produces frozen foods has released a 60-second commercial that has several sexual innuendos that may make people uncomfortable.
- The article talks about how Super Bowl ads have been known to be raunchy in the past and how most advertisements have toned down the innuendos. Devour on the other hand released a 60-second ad that mentions porn and other sexual innuendos.
- The ones with the problem are the people who will be viewing the commercial
4. Nissin takes down ad after complaints on Osaka’s depiction
https://www.theledger.com/ZZ/news/20190123/nissin-takes-down-ad-after-complaints-on-osakas-depiction
-Nissin took down an ad, in which Osaka appeared to be light skinned and doe-eyed. The ad was deemed insensitive even though it had been previously approved by her agent
-In the article, it talks about Osaka heritage, which is a mix of Haitian and Japanese, and how the ad made her appear white. The company was worried about being insensitive towards Osaka and took down the ad. Nissin continued to support Osaka and didn’t want to cause a scene with the ad.
- Nissin was the one with a problem. Their problem was being seen as insensitive towards their clients.
5. Letter: DeSantis brings new day to Florida ecology
-Gov. DeSantis is doing what he promised in his campaign, he’s cleaning Florida’s waters. There is a green alga that has been engulfing many of our bodies of water, and Gov. DeSantis is putting a stop to the land polluters that are causing this epidemic.
- In the article, it talks of how important clean water is and how especially important clean water is to Florida’s economy. Gov. DeSantis is making a difference, especially with his change in leasers on the Indian River, so instead of having some of the main water polluters on the shore, there will be a Dixie Crystals reservoir to help clean the water.
-The only ones who have a problem in this story are the water polluters who will have to adhere to stricter guidelines when it comes to preservation of our ecosystems.

4A Assignment- Opportunity Belief
4A Assignment-Opportunity Belief
I think there is an unmet need for amnesty policy awareness on and near college campuses. There is underage drinking happening at college campuses across the country and world even, but when younger kids drink too much they fear the consequences and won't call the people they really need. People need to know that there are amnesty policies set to protect kids and keep them safe all at the same time. There is an opportunity to start a business or even just a club to open the eyes of college drinkers to their options without fear of consequences.
19-year old female who has never drank
-Have you ever known anyone that has had alcohol poisoning
- Yes, my roommate "where were they" at a small get together with friends "did you call 911" yes eventually "how long did it take you to call" about two hours
-Did you know that only 4 percent of people who fear their friend has alcohol poisoning ever actually call the ambulance
- I had no idea
-Have you ever binge drank?
- I've had a few sips here and there
-Did you know Shands hospital has an amnesty policy for underage people
- yes, I learned about it after my roommate went to the hospital
-When did you first learn about alcohol poisoning?
- 13-years old maybe, in middle school health class
Reflection:
Even though she doesn't drink she knows about the amnesty program because of an incident that happened with her roommate, but if her roommate hadn't drank too much then she wouldn't have heard about it. She wouldn't be put into man situations where she would have to call 911 for alcohol poisoning but its still vital she know about the program so she can advise others.
21-year old who drinks often
-Have you ever known anyone that has had alcohol poisoning
- No, never
-did you know that only 4 percent of people who fear their friend has alcohol poisoning ever actually call the ambulance
- I had no idea it was such a low number
-have you ever binge drank?
- Yes "where were you" at midtown bar hoping " who were you with" my sorority sisters and boyfriend
-did you know Shands hospital has an amnesty policy for underage people
- Yeah, I'm friends with some of the bouncers at Midtown and they told me about it
-When did you first learn about alcohol poisoning?
- I think I was in High School, a freshman may be. I saw it on Greys Anatomy I think
Reflection:
For someone who is often in a situation to get or know someone who will get alcohol poisoning, she knew about the amnesty program. It's also good that all the bouncers out at Midtown know that calling 911 can only help someone whos sick.
18-year old who drinks occasionally
-Have you ever known anyone that has had alcohol poisoning
- No
-did you know that only 4 percent of people who fear their friend has alcohol poisoning ever actually call the ambulance
- Wow, that's so low. I had no idea alcohol poisoning happened that often
-have you ever binge drank?
- Yes, one time "where were you" a friends house party "who were you with" a bunch of people I went to high school with
-did you know Shands hospital has an amnesty policy for underage people
- Yes, I heard about it from a friend who saw someone get taken to the hospital from drinking too much
-When did you first learn about alcohol poisoning?
- Probably around 13 or 14 years old, in a health class in school
She is well informed of the amnesty policy is she or anyone of her friends were to over drink and need medical help. Binge drinking can go start even younger than college so it's important that children know they won't get in trouble for being concerned for a friend.
Summary:
I do believe there is an opportunity here to help better inform college campuses of statewide amnesty programs because there are many drinkers that hear about it through friends but don't know the information for themselves. Right now only 12 of the 50 states have a medical amnesty program(hercampus) this can leave kids scared and can cause avoidable deaths. On avaerage, 4300 underage children die from drinking-related accidents. these deaths could be avoided if the amnesty program stretched to all the states. Information saves lives, so I believe that this is a great opportuinity to really inform children and help them understnd that they have options and they dont need to be scared about them.

Reflection:
It was challenging to think of 20 things that bugged me, and it was even more challenging to ask myself why. But following your recommendations, I wrote my list in several different settings which really made it easy to brainstorm and use my surroundings for 20 things that bugged me. I found that taking a few minutes to find what bugged me at work gave me more to write about then what bugged me in the comfort of my home or while on campus. But now that I have done this experiment I find myself asking why a lot more and really discovering new traits within myself and new things that make me tick or that tick me off.

My Entrepreneurship Story
Back in my hometown of Lakeland Florida, there are a lot of family-owned businesses and entrepreneurs. One that I have had close contact with was the owner of a coffee/ beignet shop, Robyn Wilson. Robyn started the Poor Porker so that the community could come together and people would have a place to embrace their creativity. She was so inspiring to talk to and it's amazing that with all the success she's had since opening in 2015 that she still works every day and is actively involved in improving her shop and the experience of her customers. Robyn has inspired so many artists, writers, and musicians since opening her downs and more and more come each day, she is truly an icon in Lakeland. Here are some pictures of her shop so you can see for yourself how quaint and friendly the environment is.
