Assignment 2A-Bug List
1. People texting and walking
why: people are uncomfortable walking by themselves, so they act distracted by being on their phones so people don't look at them like they're loners
2. having to log into UF wifi every time I go to the library
why: My computer doesn't remember all the Wifi passwords after I log in so it makes me log in every time I reconnect with the wifi on campus
3. After a while, your ears hurt from your headphones
why: The shape and size of the headphones doesn't match the shape and size of everyone's ears so after a while ears begin to ache
4. How little parking there is on campus
why: With how many students are enrolled on campus along with the professors and other employees that are here on a day to day basis, combined with such a small amount of space on campus there is very limited space for parking
5. The libraries are always cold
why: Since the Libraries so crowded at most times they have lower the A/C to keep the rooms at a comfortable temperature for the students studying
6. How I can hear every sound from outside my apartment
why: The building I live in doesn't have the best insolation and we're on the bottom floor corner apartment so we have closer access to the sounds of the street, we're also off a very busy road with lots of car and foot traffic
7. How long it takes my scoot to start in the cold
why: I bought the Scoot used and with an old engine so in the cold it takes a couple of kickstarts to get it going
8. When people try to steal Publix mart-carts
why: People don't have cars and have to walk everywhere so they think that steal a mart-cart and riding around on it everywhere is a better way to get around
9. When people use a cart to carry one bag to their car in Publix
why: People often don't think the grab the bag and walk out when they're leaving because most of the time they are on the phone or are zoning out trying to avoid talking or making eye contact with others and don't think of how many carts get left out in the lot because of one bag
10. Coffee stains your teeth
why: The strong pigment on the coffee combined with the weak enamel on our teeth cause them to easily stain
11. How many plastic straws are given out at restaurants
why: people don't think of their impact when out with to eat, they also feel that drinking from a straw is more sanitary or they are so used to always using a straw they don't think of not using one
12. When your high heels make your feet hurt
why: Heels don't follow the proper support your feet need due to their high standing so after a while in them your feet will ache from improper support
13. Getting pop-up ads in things you're interested in
why: There are software programs that track your online activity and can see which sites you visit most often and formulate similar products from your past visitation
14. When you have to wait for machines at the gym
why: When you go to such a large school like UF there are a bunch of other people that work out at the same time as you due to similar class schedules and that makes the open machines at the gym few and far between
15. How long it takes my car to heat up in the cold
why: I drive an older car so the A/C and heat isn't as good as it once was so it takes longer for my car to heat up especially when the car is cold to begin with
16. When you turn on the heat and it turns your apartment into a sauna
why: When you're cold you overestimate how warm you want it so you turn up the heat too much before you realize how uncomfortable the heat is
17. Having to pay for gas inside instead of the pump
why: when you have cash you need to go inside to pay, or if you want to ensure that your card won't be scammed at the pump
18. When people don't respond back to a text/ phone call
why: They might not have seen the message or may have been too busy to respond
19. Having to refill out the insurance forms every time you go to the doctors
why: The doctors' office needs to make sure nothing has changed with your medical past or insurance so they can properly bill you after the appointment
20. Pee on the toilet seat
why: some people squat when they pee so they won't have to touch the dirty seat and end up peeing on the seat and in the bowl making it even more unsanitary


Reflection:
It was challenging to think of 20 things that bugged me, and it was even more challenging to ask myself why. But following your recommendations, I wrote my list in several different settings which really made it easy to brainstorm and use my surroundings for 20 things that bugged me. I found that taking a few minutes to find what bugged me at work gave me more to write about then what bugged me in the comfort of my home or while on campus. But now that I have done this experiment I find myself asking why a lot more and really discovering new traits within myself and new things that make me tick or that tick me off.
